Massage is the sharing of touch- hands on body, head, hands and feet. It’s recharging, restoring and maintaining good health by means of manipulation of the body’s soft tissue. It’s treating the whole person, not just a part of your body. For many of us stress and anxiety have become so much a part of our daily life that we don’t notice its harmful effects. You think with your mind and you move with your body – your mind and your body are interrelated. When they are overworker and overused, we become stressed. But, there are good times in our life when we have good stress like weddings, vacations and babies. Massage helps your body operate more efficiently getting a better night’s sleep; helps headaches, migraines and sinus problems; lowers blood pressure and stress; helps kidneys to eliminate waste and poisons; increases blood circulation; increases lymphatic drainage cleansing the body of wastes; better performance of the skin making it softer and more elastic: blood is circulated; relieves stiff joints and relaxes, stimulates, tones and strengthens the muscles, helping relieve soreness and tension; your immune systems (conditions such as asthma, dermatitis, diabetes, cancer and HIV, MS and Fibromyalgia) are relieved.
Drinking lots of water the day before and the day after helps to remove the toxins in the body. The day of your massage, eat a banana or orange and drink water (but not so much that you have to get off the table constantly).
Massage does lower blood pressure and if you have low pressure, you want to eat a banana or crackers on the way over and bring something to snack on after the massage along with your water.
